The hospital had a need for a helipad to accept patients being flown in from outside areas. The helipad is large enough to accommodate 4 new evac helicopters and 2 Blackhawk helicopters in a major emergency. This helipad is the largest in the city of El Paso providing relief to the Army Medical Hospital as well.
